We have been extending our social circus work to delivery of circus workshops in the refugee camps in Calais and Dunkirk. Since November 2015 we have regularly sent groups of Dodgy Clowns to work with the Women’s Centre and the Good Chance Theatre in Calais, and the Maktab School in Dunkirk.
We and our Mums have also done 3 fundraisers so far and raised over £10,000 thanks to the generosity of the people of Bristol and Cornwall. We believe that quality of life is essential to the young people stranded in these camps, as important as basic survival. Only when you can laugh and play can you be empowered as a complete human being should be.
