About Us

Based in the Uk since 2002 the company draws much from its decade of traveling as a street performance troupe in the 90’s, exploring Europe’s rich performance culture and traditions by performing and collaborating with local artists in creation centers and festivals in Portugal, Spain, France, Germany, Belgium, Holland, Switzerland, Austria, Greece and Italy..

This community connection has continued with the company attracting more and more creative energy as it develops, drawing a diverse range of visual artists, performers, actors, directors, dancers, film makers, choreographers, musicians and technicians to its productions.

We combine all these elements to tell our stories, which is at the core of what we do. We devise and develop ideas as a collective and present a wide variety of productions from intimate theatrical experiences to full-scale circus extravaganzas.

As well as company productions we also provide performers, bands, technicians, riggers, prop makers, make up artists, costume makers, site and build crew for a wide spectrum of events and private bookings through our agency service.

From bespoke one off creations to events packages made to order The Invisible Circus will bring atmosphere, impact and energy to your event, where the only limitation, is your imagination!

The Artspace Lifespace Project

The Circus helped to establish the Artspace Lifespace project in Bristol in 2005, taking on much of the core responsibilities to regenerate huge semi derelict spaces and then manage them as active creation centers.

We have always believed in putting something back into the community we are part of, we encourage and facilitate the coming together of the creative community as a means of impacting a positive change on blighted and deteriorating areas and buildings.

The most dynamic element of the circus lies within it’s ability to take any space and transform it into a living, breathing interactive experience.

The Circus is currently based at The Island creation station in Silver St, Bristol City Centre.

Relief Support

The Circus have undertaken a number of relief projects and believe in the power of the individual to take action and effect the world around them. We have supported www.hiphiphi.com Tsunami relief in Thailand with fundraising shows in London and working on the ground in Phi Phi Island.

We also detoured after Burning Man 2005 to Houston Texas to do fundraising shows and workshops for refugees from Hurricane Katrina in New Orleans.

We continue to support ongoing causes from saving Tasmania’s rainforests to Circus to Gaza and actively encourage the support of direct response projects working in challenging places and conditions.

The Invisible Circus produce unique circus theatre experiences in a wide variety of unusual locations including an ex cathedral, a car garage, shops, warehouses and most recently a police, fire and law courts complex as well as more traditional settings such as circus big tops and established theatres
