Throughout our work we strive to be inclusive and welcome d/Deaf and disabled people, whether as audience members, crew or performers. We are always learning, and always open to feedback, questions and suggestions.

Through our sister company, The Loco Klub, we work closely with Attitude is Everything to inform best practice and drive improvements to our spaces.

Invisible Circus shows take place in all sorts of locations, so the access information will vary from event to event. As far as possible we will share the relevant information for each event, and work hard to make appropriate provisions so that shows can be as accessible as possible.

Wherever possible at shows and events, where we can be in control of access provisions, we will provide the following:

Bookable Access Facilities

Personal Assistant tickets

Provision of a Personal Assistant ticket at no additional cost to a D/deaf or disabled customer, who could not attend our venue without the support of a PA.

Accessible viewing area

With notice, we will prepare a viewing area next to any of our stages. The type of viewing area may depend on the venue / performance site, so more information will be provided particular to each event.

Running Order/Time Sheet

With notice, we can prepare a timesheet and running order guide in large print when required.

For each show that Invisible Circus is producing, we aim to provide information about the following:

Toilets

Where the nearest toilet or accessible toilet is, and whether a changing room is available.

Parking

Where the best parking options are for the event location, and any options for reserving parking spaces.

Cycle Racks

Where the closest locations of cycle racks are.

Travel Guide and Arrival Guide

Information about the various travel options to the event, including public transport and taxis.

Early Entry to Event

Information on whether this option is available and how to arrange.

Customers with Medical Requirements

We welcome any customers who may need to bring food, drink, medicine or medical equipment with them to manage a medical condition.

Assistance Dogs

We will let you know whether Assistance Dogs can attend each event. Generally, Assistance Dogs will need to stay with their owners at all times, and our team cannot offer to look after them during events, unless minding the dog during comfort breaks.

Strobe Lighting

We sometimes have strobe lighting at events. If you have any concerns, please let us know in advance.

Respite Spaces

We aim to make a breakout / respite space available at our events. Please contact us in advance to arrange this or simply ask the Venue Manager at the event to assist with accessing this.

Access for Disabled Artists

For disabled artists, we will let you know the relevant access information specific to you and your role, along with back stage provisions.

Wherever the Invisible Circus isn’t in control of access information or provision, we can provide the relevant contact details and links to information provided on the event producer’s website.

If you would ever like to talk to us more about access information, or if you have any questions, you can contact us by calling the office team on 0117 941 3857 or emailing info@invisiblecircus.co.uk.

(Please note that many of the team work part-time hours, so sometimes this can result in a delayed response. However, we will do our best to respond as soon as we can – so don’t let that put you off getting in touch!)
