As a company we specialise in site-specific wonder, curating events and performances with a unique twist in response to surroundings, situation, audiences and themes. Our packages come as frameworks, with the particulars arranged in collaboration with you.
Weekend of Wonders (WOW)
The art of bringing communities together for social entertainment and cultural exchange…
Starting where it all began, The Invisible Circus introduces Weekend of Wonders. Our street performance festival brings international artists and performers together to light up the town with bedazzling acts to amaze audiences of all ages. WOW brings together veteran street performers alongside cutting edge new talent to create a truly magical atmosphere.
WOW has popped around the south west, having burst onto Bristol’s Broadmead in 2023 for 4 consecutive weekends (in partnership with Bristol City Council and WECA), the Royal William Yard in Plymouth for 5 consecutive years from 2015-2019 in partnership with (Urban Splash) and the promenades of Weston-Super-Mare (in partnership with Theatre Orchard).
The full package includes street shows (think daredevil spectacles like tightrope walking and knife juggling alongside acrobatic feats and silent clowning), walkabout acts (bubbleologists, stilt walkers, comedic characters and Rimski the cycling pianist) and workshops (for people of all ages to get a taste of circus life, with hula hoops, juggling, plate spinning and more…).

Hidden Stories
Based on our recent project – Hidden Stories of Christmas Steps – this package invites you to explore the hidden histories and forgotten characters spanning all eras that make up the world around you, on a hyper local scale.
The full package includes live performances, a permanent audio trail, and a limited podcast series. The package can also include visual projections as part of live events.
Interactive characters bring an energised and curious atmosphere to the location, engaging audiences in untold histories through playful encounters and pop-up side shows. Locals are invited to take a journey through time, to see a place they may know well in a new light, while visitors get to discover a new place in a whole new way! The joy of this project, beyond the live events, is the legacy it leaves behind. The audio trail and podcast series mean the stories can live on beyond the project’s duration, and be available to those less able to travel.

Please note that due to our company’s size and capacity, the minimum budget we can generally work with for bespoke events and artist bookings is £5000. As much as we would love to not be bound by such realities, these types of bookings need to be viable for us, to support our longevity.
